Technology-Based
Training Design and Development:
Technology-based training (eLearning) is one of the most compelling and
fastest growing benefits to business and industry due to its easy delivery
and multi-platform capabilities. Interactive and multimedia-rich learning
content can bring training topics to life, creating a dynamic and engaging
learning environment, regardless of time zones and geographical barriers.
Simulations and exercises may be developed and are powerful learning tools
effective in teaching operation of simple to complex equipment. Learners
have the ability to explore and become familiar with equipment and procedures
without suffering possible expensive consequences for mistakes made. Learners
gain confidence and (virtual) experience by operating a simulated piece
of equipment and by receiving coaching and feedback, when necessary. Typically,
both access and content are controllable and updatable, allowing flexibility,
convenience, and a high-quality learning event.
DTS offers and recommends a combination
of the following:
- Computer-based learning/training (CBT)
- Web-based learning/training
(WBT), and
- Interactive video television/teletraining (IVT)
